Setting things to build using two extruders is super simple in the MakerBot Desktop App. All you have to do is place your STLs or OBJs in makerbot 2x extruder configuration in which you want them to build, and assign each one to the extruder you want to build it.
You might want to start by setting display colors for your two extruders. You can choose colors just to help you differentiate between objects in the Prepare screen, or you can match the extruder colors to the actual filament you will be printing things with. Open the Edit menu at the top of the screen and choose App Settings. Or, on makerbot 2x extruder Mac, go to MakerBot and choose Preferences. Select your colors and click Save. To assign an object or part of an object to an extruder, click on it to highlight it.
Then click the Object Information button at the lower left of the Prepare screen or use the O key to makerbot 2x extruder the Object Information menu. If you don't see the Object Information button, check the Devices menu at the top of your screen; the Object Information button will not appear unless a printer with dual extruders, such as the MakerBot Replicator 2X, is selected under Devices. Use the drop-down menu in the Object Information menu to select which extruder you want to print the selected object or object part.
